Sunny days are here again

Well, the sun is out and once more I find myself embracing another period of (slightly) nicer weather from my recording studio. C’est la vie – this is what I’ve chosen to do with my life and I do love it. Looking through my Google calendar I see I have a band coming in, all under the age of 20. Unbelievable – that means they were born in the 1990s! Me, I was just boring in the 1990s!

They probably don’t even know who David Bowie is. If they don’t, they should watch this:

Other plans I have over the summer include going to the Primavera festival in Barcelona. It should be a good laugh, away with the lads again! Don’t think I’ve been to a festival since Glasto in 2002? Wow, it seems so far ago. Needless to say, many beers were drunk by all of us!

Looking to the World Cup

I don’t normally get excited about the World Cup. I think this is because I’m more of a United fan than an England fan, purely because most England fans hate us, so why should I feel solidarity with them once every few months?

However, I’ve tasted a truly international sense of competition in the last few days, purely through playing online bingo games at home. It’s great, because you get to represent England (in a way) against players from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

It reminds me of my nephew’s Xbox, where he can play people from all around the world on his football game, but bingo is a bit more accommodating to an old fogey like me!

Anyway, I need to go now and have a fiddle with my SDSL line. I’m trying to reroute it around my new desk – I don’t half make life difficult for myself sometimes!
