Sally’s boyfriend is really starting to annoy me. At first I wanted to be nice to him and get along, as I never got on with my ex wife’s father – he wasn’t a nice man. So I started with the friendly banter, asking him if his intentions were decent and telling him if he did anything to my precious daughter I’d hunt him down and kill him. I wanted us to get along, but didn’t want him thinking he could take advantage of my goodwill – he needed to know who was boss.

But, regardless of me setting out ground rules, AND making an effort to get to know him he continues to rub me up the wrong way. He’s an arrogant know it all, especially when it comes to music. I never even questioned a word my father-in-law used to say, mainly for fear of being punched in the face, but also because I was respectful of my elders. He, on the other hand couldn’t care less about respect.

Take last week for example, when I was saying how much I liked Simon Cowell and how he was a really successful, popular business man. Well this idiot started to tell me that I was wrong, and he was in fact one of the least respected men in Britain. I got out my macbook and said to him he was talking utter rubbish, I said look right there – try and find anything that says anything negative about Cowell, nothing there’s nothing. He said it’s simply because he has a really good PR Agency. – yea right, what an idiot. Simon rocks.
