I’m not going to lie – I got well and truly beaten on the golf course today. I think my mate has been playing a bit more than he let on and my only saving grace was that I did manage to win one hole – the fact he got stuck in a bunker and then a stream doesn’t matter as far as I’m concerned, a win’s a win. It was nice to get out though; golf is a bit of a boring game, to watch and to play sometimes (it depends who you’re with), but I do like being out in the fresh air, so that’s a bonus. Good to take some time away from the studio and my day to day life as well, to get a bit of space.
The reason we were out in the first place, of course, was to look at what used cars West Midlands garages had in. My mate was after a run around for his daughter, who’s just turned seventeen, so we were looking at something under £1,000 in decent condition. That’s not an easy thing to get these days, we’re learning, and you’re obviously restricted to the smaller cars, but we think we’ve found a nice little Corsa for her. He just needs to take her to look at it this weekend, to check the colour’s OK – that’s the most important thing, apparently.
No football until Monday means a nice relaxing weekend for me. Probably a few drinks out in some Manchester bars on Friday then a nice quiet one at home on Saturday. I won’t be playing golf, that’s for sure.
